The storytellers
About Ever After Games
Who makes these games, and why.
Who we are
Ever After Games is a small, founder-led independent games studio based in Cumbria in the north of England. We make story-led games that play free in a web browser, a handful of apps, and GG Engine, a game maker for people who do not write code.
The studio is run by Ever After Books Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. The same company runs Ever After Books, an independent bookshop at 144 Market Street, Dalton-in-Furness, LA15 8RQ, selling new, second hand and antiquarian books on the high street and online. Ever After Games itself trades online: this site is the studio, and there is no games shop to visit.
What we make
- Willow. A cozy real-time isometric dungeon crawler, adapted day for day from the LitFic serial Willow. Exiled to the Library of Cir...
- Delivered. A cosy story adventure based on the LitFic tale Delivered (Tales from Hearthveil City). Ben has lost every job he has ever had. The ink stall, the printers...
- Gearloom. A contraption puzzle game. Every puzzle hands you a bare workshop wall and a machine to build: bolt gears into the brickwork so their teeth mesh...
- Pocket Astrologer. Your personal astrologer in your pocket. Cast your birth chart, get daily readings, plan your days around the sky, and explore compatibility with the people in your life.
- The ABC Kingdom. A learn-to-read adventure across 27 worlds. A naughty spell turned Zebra grumpy and he has stolen the Magic Letters! Play as Apple (secretly a prince), Butterfly or Cat...
- Pet Paradise. A pet game for the smallest hands, painted in soft storybook watercolour. Adopt a puppy, a kitten or a bunny from the pet store, give it a name...
- Pet Parlor. Pet Paradise's chibi-sticker sister. The same house of eight rooms, but every one of the twenty-seven pets is adoptable from day one: puppies, kittens, chicks, bunnies, birds...
- Cici's Farm. A kawaii farming game. Feed the cow, pig, chickens, ducks, horse and sheep, milk the cow and collect the eggs, then grow wheat, strawberries, bananas, blueberries and tomatoes...
- GG Engine, our game maker at gg.everaftergames.com. Plan a game like a story, build the world like The Sims, then press play. No code anywhere.
- The Play Hub, 31 free kids and family apps in one place at everaftergames.com/play-hub.
How we work
Everything on this site is something we have actually built and shipped. We do not list games that do not exist, we do not invent reviews, player counts or star ratings, and when a title is still in development we say so on its page.
Several of our games started life as stories. Delivered and Willow are both adaptations of serials from LitFic, our webnovel platform, and each game links back to the story it came from. The games for the youngest players are designed with the children who play them: they tell us what they want to see and we build it.
The children’s games carry no adverts, ask for no money, and cannot be lost. They are fully voiced so a child who cannot read yet can still play on their own.
The Ever After Group
Ever After Games is part of the Ever After Group, a family of connected projects for readers, writers and players. One account and one LitCoin wallet work across all of them: Ever After Books (the bookshop), LitFic (webnovels), Ever After Press (publishing), Ever After Vibes (music) and Buy LitCoins.
