Choose your kind of puzzle

Block Party contains three separate games. Grid Rush asks you to fit pieces into an eight by eight board. Drop Zone sends falling pieces down a well. Pop Panic pushes coloured blocks up from below. Each mode keeps its own best score, so a good result in one does not replace your record in another.

Start with Grid Rush if you want to study a position before committing. Choose Drop Zone if you enjoy rotating falling shapes, or Pop Panic if you prefer spotting connected colours. The moving boards in the latter two modes make them a different challenge from the placement puzzle.

Grid Rush: look at all three pieces

Drag a piece from the tray onto an empty part of the board. It must fit completely: no part can hang over an edge or overlap an occupied square. Completing a row or column clears it. Your next tray arrives after you place all three pieces.

Before placing the first shape, find a possible home for the largest or most awkward one. A small piece that makes a quick line can accidentally cut the remaining empty space into pockets. Keeping a broad open area gives the next tray more options.

For example, if a long piece needs a clear strip and a small square can fit in several places, reserve the strip. Place the square where it helps finish a different line. Think about the board that remains after a clear, not only the points from the current move.

Drop Zone: use the landing preview

The ghost shape shows where the falling piece will land. Rotate and move the piece while checking that preview. Full lines disappear, and the pace increases after every ten cleared lines.

Try to keep the surface reasonably level. A covered hole cannot be filled from above, so it usually costs more space to repair than an open shallow gap. Before making a tall stack, check how the next few shapes could reach the spaces beside it.

Pop Panic: clear a route down

Select touching groups of the same colour to clear them while new blocks rise from below. The immediate threat is the highest part of the board. A large group near the bottom may create a useful drop, but watch what is approaching the top before chasing a bigger score.

Best scores are stored in this browser. Clearing website data or switching devices can leave you with a different set of records. There is no need to create an account to start a round.
