Kept is a savings tracker for iPhone and Android (goal jars, savings challenges, no-spend streaks, cash envelopes, a subscription audit), made by Ever After Games, part of the Ever After Group (UK). This page explains what the app does and does not do with data. The short version: everything you type into Kept stays on your phone.
Your jars, amounts, notes, challenge ticks, no-spend days, envelopes, subscriptions and settings are kept in the app's local storage on your device only. Kept has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics and no connection to any bank or payment provider: it never sees your real balances or transactions, only the numbers you type. Deleting the app's data in device settings, or uninstalling the app, permanently removes everything. The "Copy backup" button places a copy of your data on your clipboard, under your control; nothing is uploaded.
If you switch on the weekly check-in, the app asks for notification permission and schedules a reminder on the phone itself. Nothing is sent from a server.
The Google Play version of Kept shows a small banner advert (never a full-screen one, and never while you are typing an amount), served by Google AdMob. To serve, measure and protect adverts, the Google Mobile Ads SDK automatically handles the device's IP address, app interactions, diagnostic information and device identifiers such as the advertising ID or app set ID. The IP address may be used to estimate an approximate location. Google uses this information for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. Data sent by the SDK is encrypted in transit.
In the UK/EEA the app presents Google's consent form before loading an advert, and you can review your choice from "Ad privacy options" in the app's Settings. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your device's Google settings. How Google uses this data is described at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Buying the one-time Remove ads purchase switches advertising off entirely; after that the app makes no advertising requests at all. The purchase itself is processed by Google Play; we never see your payment details.
The Amazon Appstore and Apple App Store versions of Kept are paid up front and carry no advertising. Their builds exclude the advertising and Play Billing code.
Kept is a general-audience tool. It is not directed at children and contains no content unsuitable for anyone.
Because Kept keeps no personal data about you on our systems, there is nothing for us to look up, correct or delete on our side: your data is on your device and under your control.
